1B Jason Thompson(16th pick,round 1)

Breaking news out of the War-room is that the Yankees have selected from Hollywood Florida, slugging 1B Jason Thompson. The 6'3 210 pounder is projected to be a 25HR a year man batting around the .250 mark but has a great eye and OBP potential. With the departure of SS Jimmy Ray Hart Management needed to replace the power lost and the LH Thompson was excatly what they were looking for.Playing in the Southern League for AA Montgomery, Jason appeared in 75 games(.324 with 10 HR's) and will likely move to AAA Toledo or with a good Spring Training get a chance at backing up 1B in Gotham City in 1976.Scouting reports received today by Yankee Scouts say with a good winter the tall 1B could indeed make the team,CURRENT:(5/4/7/7/6 vs RH, 5/4/6/6/6 vs LH ).This would allow the Yankees to move 1B Hebner back to 3rd and place 3B Kingman back in left field.

GM Kiggins would also like to acquire a draft pick in next years draft and the Bronx Bombers are looking to trade one of their SP for that pick.It looks like SP Doug Heinold(12-10,2.80) is ready to take the next step and the team will have to find some where to put him.The Team has not ruled out the possibility of trading the young star but will listen to all options.

Round #2

SS/2B/3B Kiko Garcia

Playing for AAA Rochester in the IL Garcia appeared in 122 games(.244/3/32) and at 21 will spend another season at AAA Toledo.Kiko is a very talented middle infielder with outstanding defense(Range:9,Arm:9,DP:9,Error: 6) and hails from Martinez,Calf. At only 5'10 and 180 lbs Garcia will get to just about anything hit his way.Yankee Management went looking for a very good fielder and Garcia fits their profile."Some players make up the lack of hitting(he has a 5 contact) with great plays helping the pitching staff with a double play,"GM Kiggins told reporters this afternoon. The Draft was suspended when severe weather was forcasted in the area and everyone was seeking shelter. The Draft is likely going to have to put in an all night'er as GM's get ready ready for the off season.

This paged will be updated after next selection in the draft

Interesting choice... I don'r think it was a bad selection but I do think Armas and Gross both have just as much or more home run potential. I will be very interested which of those players ends up with the most home runs.

I looked at all 3 and Thompson's work ethic won over plus i don't think he will strike out as often as the other 2.Its all a gamble anyway.
