Thursday, May 19th, 2005: It was a smooth and solid performance by Shane Wookey of the Vancouver Mounties against Louisville today. He crafted a fine 5-hitter in blanking them 4-0 and chalked up 7 strikeouts and no walks along the way.
"It certainly makes my job easy," said the Vancouver skipper. "When my pitcher pitches a shutout. I can just sit back, watch and enjoy."
For the season Wookey has logged 6 wins and 2 losses and struck out 43 batters in 78 innings while compiling a 2.42 ERA. |

Wednesday, May 18th, 2005: In a sharp 4-hit performance, Lorenzo Morales tossed the Las Vegas Hustlers to a 7-0 shutout victory over the Birmingham Bandits, fanning 5 and walking 1.
"That's as good a stuff as I've seen in a long time," the Birmingham manager said in his postgame interview.
This season Morales has worked 71.2 innings with 46 strikeouts en route to a 6-2 record and a 2.13 ERA. |

Wednesday, May 18th, 2005: The Den played host to a command performance by Jessie Wright of the Madison Wolves. In shutting out Valencia 4-0, Wright limited the Stars to 3 hits. The 32-year-old hurler also fanned 12 and walked 5 in capturing the victory.
For this year Wright has chalked up 3 wins and 1 loss in 9 starts with 64 strikeouts in 60.1 innings and a 3.58 ERA. |
